ZapShipr Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 11.09.2025
Your privacy is important to us at ZapShipr. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from you as a user of the ZapShipr Service, how we use and share that information, and your rights in relation to that information. By using ZapShipr, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate and improve the Service. The information we collect falls into a few categories:
Account Information (User-Provided)
When you register for ZapShipr, we ask for basic information such as your name, email address, and password. This information is used to create and administer your account. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we (or our secure payment processor) will collect payment details (e.g. credit card information and billing address) as needed to process your subscription.
Social Media Account Data
When you connect your social media accounts to ZapShipr, we receive certain information from those third-party accounts, as permitted by you and the platform's API. For each connected social network, this typically includes an authentication token (so we can act on your behalf without knowing your password), your profile name and ID, and any content or data that you explicitly ask us to fetch or manage. For example:
- The text, images, or videos of posts you compose or schedule through ZapShipr.
- Basic profile information necessary to identify your account (e.g. your handle or username on each platform, and profile picture URL).
We do not collect all data from your social accounts – only what is needed to provide our service features. For instance, we will not download your private messages, friends list, or other unrelated personal data. We also do not collect sensitive personal data from social networks that is not required for our functionality. In summary, we retrieve only the required info needed to publish your posts and display basic info about your linked social accounts, and nothing more (data minimization principle).
Usage Data (Automated)
Like many online services, we automatically collect certain technical information when you use ZapShipr. This includes:
- Log Data: Information about your interactions with our Service, such as the pages or screens you visit, the times and dates of your visits, features used, and errors or performance metrics.
- Device/Browser Information: Your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and hardware model. This information helps us troubleshoot issues and improve compatibility across devices.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies or similar tracking technologies to remember your login session and preferences, and to collect analytics about how users in general navigate our site. For example, we may use a cookie to keep you logged in during a session or to understand which features are most popular. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but note that disabling certain cookies may affect functionality (like staying logged in).
Note: We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age, and ZapShipr is not intended for users under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 (or under the applicable age threshold in their jurisdiction) has provided us with personal data, we will delete it in accordance with applicable law.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
Provide and Maintain the Service
We use your information to operate ZapShipr's core functionality. For example, your social media access tokens and content are used to publish your posts at scheduled times. Your email and account info may be used to log you in and maintain your account settings.
Analytics and Improvements
Usage and device data help us understand how the Service is performing and how users are interacting with it. We analyze this data (often in aggregate form) to debug issues, optimize our user interface, and plan new features. This usage data is generally de-identified or aggregated, and not used to profile individuals for marketing.
Communications
We may use your email address to send you service-related notifications (for example, a confirmation of a scheduled post, important updates about the platform, changes to these policies, security alerts, or customer support responses). We may also send occasional product announcements, newsletters, or offers, but you will have the ability to opt-out of marketing emails if you don't want to receive them.
Compliance and Protection
We may use your information to comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Service, or protect the rights, property, or safety of ZapShipr, our users, or others. This includes monitoring for fraudulent or suspicious activities and taking action against malicious accounts.
Important: We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use the content you post for any purpose other than to display it back to you and improve our services (for example, we're not mining your post content for advertising profiles or anything unrelated to providing the ZapShipr service).
3. How We Share Information
ZapShipr respects your privacy and shares your information only in limited situations:
With Your Social Networks
Obviously, when you use ZapShipr to publish content on a social media platform, we send that content (along with necessary credentials) to the platform's API to execute the post. This means we share data with the social networks at your direction. For example, if you schedule a post for Platform X, the content is transmitted to Platform X when the time comes, just as if you had entered it on their app. These third-party platforms process that content under their own terms and privacy policies.
Service Providers and Partners
We use reputable third-party service providers to host our servers and database, process payments, send emails, and provide certain functionalities. For instance, our servers may be hosted on a cloud platform like Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud, and we use a payment gateway to handle billing. These providers may have access to personal data only to perform tasks on our behalf (e.g., storing data, processing transactions, or sending emails) and are contractually obligated to protect it and use it only for those purposes.
Legal Compliance
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order, subpoena, or government demand). We will attempt to notify you of such requests when allowed, and will only disclose what is lawfully required.
Business Transfers
If ZapShipr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. In such cases, we will ensure the successor honors the commitments we have made in this Privacy Policy or provide you notice and an opportunity to opt out of the transfer of your personal information.
With Your Consent
In cases where you have given us explicit consent to share your information with a third party (for example, if we introduce a feature where you can opt in to integrate another partner service), we will share it as directed by you.
Important: We do not share or disclose your social media content or account data to any third parties other than the social networks themselves and our necessary service providers. We do not provide advertisers or unrelated parties access to your linked account data or post content. Any data we share with telemetry or error tracking services is typically pseudonymized or aggregated to protect your identity.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. Concretely:
Account Data
Your account information and connected social account tokens are kept for as long as you maintain an ZapShipr account. If you delete your account or if it's terminated, we will delete or anonymize this information within a reasonable period, except for any data we are required to retain for legal compliance or legitimate business purposes (for example, records of transactions for accounting, or logs for security).
Post Content
Content that you schedule or publish through ZapShipr may be stored in our database to facilitate scheduling and editing. Once a post is published, we may retain the content for your later review (unless you delete it from our interface). You can delete any scheduled or past post content from ZapShipr at any time, and it will be removed from our active systems (it may remain in secure backups for a limited duration until those backups cycle out). Note that deleting a post in ZapShipr does not delete the copy of that content on the social platform; you would need to delete the post directly on the social network if desired.
Analytics/Log Data
We generally retain logs and aggregated usage data for a shorter period (e.g., 12-24 months) for troubleshooting and analytics. These logs may include IP addresses or device IDs, but we treat them as confidential and protect them like any personal data. Once they are no longer needed, we either delete or anonymize this data.
If you wish to have your personal data deleted, you can request this by contacting us (see Contact Us below). We will delete the information that we are not legally required or otherwise permitted to retain. Additionally, if you disconnect a social media account from ZapShipr, we will delete any tokens and cached data related to that account from our servers, and will no longer access that account unless you reconnect it.
5. Data Security
We take security seriously and implement commercially reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Some of the security practices we follow include:
Encryption
All communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS. Sensitive data (such as authentication tokens and passwords) are encrypted at rest in our database. We store your ZapShipr account password in hashed form and never in plain text.
OAuth for Social Logins
When you connect your social media accounts, we use OAuth protocols. This means we do not store your social media login passwords. Instead, you authorize us with tokens issued by the platforms, which can be individually revoked by you.
Access Controls
Within our organization, personal data is accessible only to those team members who need it to perform their duties (principle of least privilege). Administrative access to systems that store personal data is logged and audited.
Monitoring and Testing
We monitor for suspicious activities and have systems in place to detect and respond to potential security incidents. We periodically review our practices and may employ third-party security audits or penetration testing services to evaluate our defenses.
Security Notice: Despite our efforts, no security measure is 100% perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should also take steps to secure your account by using a strong, unique password for ZapShipr and not sharing your account credentials. If you discover any vulnerability or have reason to believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
6. Third-Party APIs and Services
ZapShipr integrates with several third-party platforms as an essential part of our service. Your use of ZapShipr to access those services means that your information will be handled by those third parties under their own privacy policies. For example, when we post to Instagram on your behalf, the request and data pass through Meta's systems. We do not control how those third parties treat your data once it reaches them. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of all social networks you connect to our Service.
Key third-party privacy policies and terms include:
- Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads): Meta's Data Policy and Instagram's Data Policy
- YouTube (Google API Services): Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service
- LinkedIn: LinkedIn Privacy Policy
- TikTok: TikTok Privacy Policy
- Pinterest: Pinterest Privacy Policy
- Bluesky: Bluesky Terms and Privacy
We provide these links and references for convenience and to meet platform audit requirements. Please be aware that when you leave our Service or interact with a feature that contacts a third-party, any information you provide will be handled according to that third party's own rules and policies, which may differ from ours. We are not responsible for how third-party services collect or use your data, but we only integrate with them in ways that are intended to respect your permissions and privacy. If you have questions about how a specific social network handles your data, please refer to that company's privacy center.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law (such as the EU's GDPR, California's CCPA, etc.), you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. We honor applicable data subject rights requests and provide similar controls to all users as a matter of good practice. These rights may include:
Access and Portability
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and information on how it's used. We can provide this in a machine-readable format. Much of your data (posts and profile info) is available directly in your account dashboard, but you can also contact us for a full export.
Correction
If any personal information we have is inaccurate or outdated, you have the right to request a correction. You can update some of your account information directly in your profile settings, or reach out to us for help.
Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. As noted above, you may delete your account at any time, which will remove most data. If you prefer, you can also contact us to request deletion of specific information. We will comply unless we are legally permitted or required to keep the data (in which case we will explain why). Keep in mind, as noted, that deleting data from ZapShipr does not remove content you posted to external social networks.
Objection and Restriction
You have the right to object to or ask us to limit (restrict) processing of your data under certain circumstances – for example, you can ask that we stop using your data for marketing emails (which we will honor by opting you out). If you have concerns about any other form of processing, let us know and we will review and accommodate if required.
Consent Withdrawal
If you have given consent to any optional data processing (for instance, if in the future we seek your consent for something like sharing info with a partner), you can withdraw that consent at any time for future processing. Withdrawing consent will not affect the legality of what we did with your data before you withdrew.
To exercise any of these rights: Please contact us (see Contact Us below). We may need to verify your identity to process certain requests. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law. There is no charge for making a request, but repetitive or excessive requests may incur a fee as permitted by law. If you are an EU/EEA user and believe we have not adequately addressed your data rights concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your country's data protection authority.
8. International Data Transfers
ZapShipr operates globally. If you are located outside the country where our servers or headquarters are, your information (including personal data) may be transferred to and stored on servers in a country different from yours. We primarily use cloud hosting in [USA or specify region], though this may change as we adopt global infrastructure. Regardless of where data is stored, we apply the same privacy protections described in this policy.
When we transfer personal data out of regions with data transfer restrictions (like the European Economic Area), we ensure an adequate level of protection. This may involve using standard contractual clauses approved by the EU, or transferring to jurisdictions deemed adequate by regulators, or other appropriate safeguards. By using ZapShipr, you acknowledge this transfer of your data and understand that privacy laws in the destination country may be different from those in your jurisdiction. However, our collection, storage, and use of your data will continue to be governed by this Privacy Policy and any applicable data transfer agreements.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy, and if the changes are significant, we may provide a more prominent notice (such as an email notification or an in-app alert). We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of ZapShipr after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
